Why I Believe Exposure Is Gold in Your Growth Journey

I have always stood by this, exposure is one of the most potent tools on your journey to success. And early exposure? Even more so.

Why? Because anything out of sight is completely out of mind. There is a natural ceiling on what you’ll become if circumstances denied you certain exposures in life.

Think about it. You cannot implement what you haven’t seen or heard. This has nothing to do with how brilliant you are.

Picture a child born deep in a village in Ghana with no internet, never seen a computer. That young lad is focused on daily survival, nothing about the power of technology ever crosses his mind, let alone using it to build systems. Now picture another kid, same age, raised in a resourceful environment, exposed to computers and programming at six, already experimenting. What do you think becomes of these two?

Out of sight is out of mind.

Most people have the potential. But potential surrounded by the wrong environment is like a seed planted in a galamsey pit. Children raised by the top 1% are ten times more likely to succeed than those raised by the bottom 50%. The gap isn’t always talent, it’s exposure.

I didn’t discover my own potential until I got to college. That four-year journey cracked things open for me and reshaped how I think and see the world. Imagine if it had happened earlier.

So if you have the opportunity to expose yourself to the right information, the right education, the right relationships, treat it like a World Cup ticket. Pay for that seminar. Take that trip. Build an environment that pulls the best out of you. The experiences you chase today are the foundations you’ll build on tomorrow.

This is tried and tested.
